Connect ChatGPT

Connect ChatGPT to DocuWriter.ai with MCP so you can browse spaces, search documents, and generate or update documentation directly from a chat.

Prerequisites

  • A DocuWriter.ai account
  • Access to ChatGPT's Apps & Connectors / MCP server setup

Step 1 - Add the server

Open ChatGPT settings and search for Apps & Connectors. Add a new MCP server with this URL:

https://app.docuwriter.ai/mcp

Use OAuth authentication. No manual bearer token is required.

If you want to copy DocuWriter.ai branding values:

  • Name: DocuWriter.ai
  • Description: Connect ChatGPT to DocuWriter.ai to browse spaces, search documents, and generate or update documentation directly from ChatGPT.
  • Logo: https://www.docuwriter.ai/assets/icon.png

Step 2 - Authorize access

After creating the connector, ChatGPT opens the DocuWriter.ai authorization flow.

  1. Sign in to DocuWriter.ai.
  2. Approve access.
  3. Return to ChatGPT after authorization completes.

Step 3 - Validate the connection

Open a new chat and mention your DocuWriter.ai app/connector. Try:

List my DocuWriter spaces with IDs.

If the connection is successful, ChatGPT will return the spaces available to your account.

Browse and search:

List my DocuWriter spaces with IDs.
Search all my spaces for "getting started".
Search space 22854 for "MCP".
Open document 118972 in space 22854.

Generate documentation:

Generate documentation for this file and save it to space 22854 as "API overview".
Generate documentation for these files and save one page to space 22854.

Create and update documents:

Create a document called "Deployment guide" in space 22854.
Update document 12345 in space 22854 with this Markdown content: ...

Repository sync suggestions:

List pending repository sync suggestions for space 22854.
Apply suggestion 12345.
