Getting Started with DocuWriter.ai

A quick guide to registering, starting your free trial, and choosing the right subscription tier for your needs.

1. Create your account

  1. Sign up from the home page with a work or personal email.
  2. Confirm the address via the one-click verification link.
  3. Apply for one of our subscription plans.

Workspace owners can add teammates at any time. Their usage is covered by the owner's plan.

2. Credits and usage

  • Each AI generation, such as documentation, tests, or code optimization, consumes platform credits.
  • Asking questions about your Spaces using AI does not consume credits.
  • Credits belong to the workspace owner. When teammates create docs, credits are subtracted from the owner's pool.
  • View remaining credits under Profile > Usage.

Learn more in What uses credits and what does not.

3. Upgrading and downgrading

Switch plans at any time. Plan changes take effect immediately and are prorated. Need more credits mid-cycle? Purchase a one-off pack from the Profile page.

For payment methods, invoices, cancellation, password changes, and support, see Account, billing, and support.

4. Exporting your documentation

Spaces can be exported as Markdown ZIP files, single pages can be downloaded as PDF, Markdown, or Word (DOCX), and Spaces can be exported to Git or Confluence.

See Export and download Spaces for the full export guide.

5. Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate licence for each collaborator?

No. One subscription covers everyone you invite to your team or Space.

What happens when I run out of credits?

You can still browse and edit existing documents, but new AI generations will be paused until the next cycle or until extra credits are added. AI Q&A on your Spaces continues to work without consuming credits.

Is payment information stored securely?

DocuWriter.ai never stores raw card details. Payments are processed by our payment provider.
