Connect GitHub

Use a GitHub provider connection to select repositories for documentation. The DocuWriter Autopilot GitHub App also supports repository events and pull-request comments for repositories where it is installed.

Connect for documentation generation

  1. Open Git Connections → Connect GitHub.
  2. Sign in to the GitHub account that can access the repository and review the authorization request.
  3. Return to DocuWriter, add the repository and select the branch to import.
  4. Wait for the import to complete, then open Full Tree Documentation.

If the repository belongs to an organization, its administrator may need to approve access. Check the organization and account before reconnecting repeatedly.

Add the Autopilot GitHub App

Install DocuWriter AI Autopilot for the repositories you want it to access. Then configure the Space's Autopilot connection, including the branch and supported events.

The GitHub App and OAuth connection can coexist. App installation does not guarantee every manual repository picker or generator flow has the authorization it needs; follow any connection requirement shown in that flow.

Verify the right access

A successful setup lets you select the expected repository and import the chosen branch. For Autopilot, check the connection is enabled and inspect Activity after a relevant repository event. A missing suggestion is not, by itself, proof that authorization failed: the event may not require a documentation update.
